Pup Sales Information

Written contracts and guarantees are provided for each puppy, whether sold as a companion, working dog or show prospect. Health, hips and temperament are included.

Puppies or adults may be returned to us at any time, regardless of the reason. We do not want one of our puppies to land in rescue or an animal shelter, nor do we want it given away if you cannot keep it. This is one of the reasons we micro-chip our pups before they leave.

If your puppy has attended and graduated a puppy kindergarten course and 2 basic obedience classes, we also guarantee against genetic temperament problems. We start the socialization process here, but we expect you to continue this to ensure a good start. Puppies are registerable with the AKC. An AKC application, pedigree and a complete puppy packet are supplied when the puppy goes to its new home. All pups receive two sets of vaccinations and are de-wormed prior to leaving.

Deposits

Deposits are accepted for upcoming litters. With most, a deposit sent ahead of time is strongly advised. It is not uncommon to have all puppies spoken for prior to their birth. Half of the purchase price is required to consider a puppy spoken for once the litter is born. A smaller portion of the deposit may be sent to reserve a baby.

Final payments must be made by cash, money order or certified/cashier's check. If a personal check must be used, AKC papers and all but the 72-hour health guarantee is withheld until the check clears.

Puppy Selection

We are proud of the puppies we produce and their parents. However, we do NOT allow visitors prior to the puppies having their first vaccinations. No Exceptions!

Appointments may be made for dates following first shots (approximately 5 weeks of age). We try to make most or all of the selection appointments on the same day, for two reasons: It is less tiresome for the puppies and disrupts their routine for only one or two days.

Visits are kept semi-brief. A half-hour to an hour is plenty of time to meet the puppies, mom, dad (if available), and any older full- or half-siblings, if applicable. This gives the babies time to rest, eat, etc., before their next visitor.

If you have a male puppy reserved and you know you only want a male puppy, then at first, we will show you only male puppies. After a selection is made, you can meet the rest of the litter. We are proud of these puppies and it is good for them to meet other people.

Questions and Help

We are always here and available to answer any questions you may have, or to offer suggestions for any problems which may arise throughout the life of your companion. We have raised lots of puppies, both our own and those purchased elsewhere. We usually know how to correct most problems quickly. If not, some of our many, many, many dog friends may have the answers.

Please see our page on Contracts. I also ask that you fill out a puppy application for consideration of one of our pups. Just as you want to know where your puppy is coming from, we are interested in knowing where it is going.
